Models Own - Sterling Silver + Stamping!

Hey all,

Hope you are all having a lovely Saturday :) I woke up pretty late and then was lazy then did my nails :P What a productive day! lol

I have a swatch of Models Own - Sterling Silver. To be honest, its nothing different than the other silver polishes I own, its shimmery and a nightmare to take off...just like all shimmery silver polishes.

I have two coats on and no topcoat :)

I decided to stamp over it with a black polish using a diamond design, pretty simple and nice over silver polish :) I also didn't clean up around my nails. A few weeks ago Nail Art Novice posted in the British Nail Bloggers Facebook page suggesting we post a messy manicure. I missed out on posting mine because I've been so busy and lazy lol :D 

I really hate cleaning up around my cuticle and nails after stamping a design, because the polish ends up soaking and adding a washed out effect under the cuticles which makes it harder to clean or when you do get it clean you get a faint colour of the polish all over you skin....NIGHTMARE!

Here it is...better late than never!

I did end up cleaning it up and here is the cleaned version :)

What do you think? Do you hate clean up and polish all over your skin? Does it drive you insane!?!?!

British Nail Blogger Get Rubbed!

Hey all :)

Just a really sexual post for you all :P Name courtesy from Emma over at Em's Little Corner

This is gonna be the weirdest post you may have possibly ever read...but I am not the only one that does it! I'm talking about that lip rubbing thing most of us do absentmindedly! rubbing your painted nails on your upper lip just to get a feel of the polish you're wearing!

Ever do that? I do it with all types of nail polish I have, must be something I do when I am stressed or nervous because it really makes me calm LOL

Textures, dotty nails, glitter, satin/metallic and matte nails! Those are my 5 favorite polish and nail art finishes! 

1. Texture - feels amazing to feel the grittiness on my lip! its actually so soothing :) my favorite has to be O.P.I - Pussy Galore (very fitting name for this post!) Sometimes I even lick it so I can feel the grittiness on my tongue!

2. Dotty - When I have a spotty design on my nails it creates a really awesome 3D texture on my and when I rub it on my upper lip I can feel the bumps!
Here is an awful example with a lopsided bow! 

3. Satin/metallic polishes - They are so smooth and fell really good! Really glides along my top lip! Sometimes I press my tongue on my nail because it just slides off!

4. Glitter! - OMG! The best feeling texture on my lips! The bumps caused by glitter really fills any needs on rubbing! LOL

5. Matte! - Soooooooooo smooooth!!! Really feels smooth and just awesome! Has to be my favorite type of finish to rub along my lip! Especially the new Barry M ones! I want them all :D 

So here you go! These are all of my favorite finishes that I like to rub on my upper lip! Do you guys do this too!? What are your favorite polishes?!

Top 10 Favorite Polish!

Hey All!

I have a post today telling you all about my top 10 favorite polish! This is a real toughie! I have so many nail polishes and to choose from the bunch I had to narrow it down, It's like narrowing down your favorite family member! ARGHHHH!!!!

Here are the top 10 :)

10. I'd have to put NYC - Aqua Mystic. It's such a lovely metallic blue and perfect for stamping! It's one of my favorite blues!

9. Number 9 is NYC- Smokey Topcoat - Greenday. I do LOVE this polish due to the green bits of glitter and black gelly! 

8. Barry m -Special Edition pink (A). Is such a lovely pink and its a jelly polish, due to it having to be layered up I put it at number 8!

7. Amazing orange by Barry M - Mango. It's once of the best and only oranges I own!

6. I love green, It's absolutely my favorite colour ever! and I choose Essence - L.O.L

5. Now this is another green but by Barry M - Keylime. its absolutely an awesome shiny green!! Smooth application and just a great colour! 

4. Another Barry M - Favorite :) Pink silver glitter, it has a gritty finish and I just love how it looks on my nails!

3. oOooOoo toughie....Has to be O.P.I - Pussy Galore! Love the gritty finish again and how lovely the texture is! It's my best opi polish I have!

2. Without a doubt my second favorite polish is Barry M - Caramel. why? because it matches my skin tone perfectly and it really looks like im not wearing any nail polish! It has such a lovely satin matte finish I love rubbing my nails on my upper lip (do you guys do that too?! lol) Just perfect :D

1. Number one is.......BARRY M - GREENBERRY! I chose this one because I used it as my base colour for my cute little penguin nails! Absolutely love the colour and how it matched perfectly with the penguins I decided to do! :D

So theres my top 10 nail polish and I did have a lot of Barry M favorites :) And still have more!

Tri-Polish Challenge May #1 - Retro Flowers (Again)!!

Hey girls,

This month I decided to join the Crumpets Tri-Polish nail art challenge, where three colours are chosen and used to create 4 different manicures (black and white can be used!) within the month!

This month the tree colours are blue, red and grey!

I decided to do the Retro Flower design (HERE) I did a few days ago using these colours!

Here it is!

Super duper simple but really nice! I personally think this design is much better with brighter colours!

Satin Skittle!

Hey girls,

Again I've gone out and bought some more nail polish from my favorite drugstore brand which is NYC....just a side note, my mother doesn't like nail polish so every time I go home with some I get an ear full..quite annoying since I love it and I love my blog...would adore some support from her *sad rant over*

Anyways, I realised in my stash I don't own any Satin finish nail polish and I invested in some :D I bought a red, purple and a gold! I shall do a swatch post soon but first I'll show you all the random skittle mani I did with them!

Picture quality is terrible today, sorry guys!

If you cant tell, on my index I have random dots. on my middle and ring I have done roses. My pinky is leopard print :)

I like how this randomness turned out, what do y'all thinkies?!

In other news, I had a bet with my Mr Dork and now I have to do American flag nails (since he is 'Mercian!) sighh...on my toes too! I am not looking forward to this :P I'm gonna put it off for as long as possible...if you're reading this love...MUAHAHA this battle isn't over I will get you to paint your nails!!

Elegant Stamped French Tip!

Hey Girls!

I've never used the tips stampers of the stamping plates and always found them so hard to stamp with...I had a change of heart and decided to do a simple design on my right hand since I'm a lefty! 

I think this totally turned out great even thought my pinky came out wonky I still think its great :D

The stamp transferred great with no fault! 

Here it is :D

It was a total shame to wipe it off but I enjoyed this manicure while it lasted and I got a few compliments on it, which is always nice!

Spring Water Marble Win :D!

Hey all!

Spring, spring...where art thou?

Yes, in London its still not springy feeling. Cold and gloomy all week with one day of sun shine..nothing new huh?

I decided to do  a water marble and hope to Jesus that it will work, I took out about 10000000 (meaning only 10) polishes to try out and I found that thin polishes work best and the odd thick polish.

A lot of mess was made but this is the outcome!

Passion Fruit!

Rock!

Tree Hugger!

Craving Coral!

That's all the polishes used over a white base of white :)

Now I couldn't just let this manicure stay how it is and decided to mattify it :D

Ask A British Nail Blogger - Nail Care Routine?

Hey all!

Today's post is all about my nail care routine (which is not much really!)

Here is everything I use to take care of my nails!

I first start by washing my hands, then I take the rough nail file (with the girl on!) and even out my nail shape, then I use the glass file and use it to smooth out the free edge. Then I use the buffer to smooth out my nail bed! Sometimes when my nails are super long first I cut them then I file :)

The plier looking thin at the top I use to just clip off any peeling skin because I will bloody end up pulling at it and causing an ouchie!

Then I like to use some cuticle remover and push back my cuticles GENTLY, then ill add some alcohol oil thingy!

Wash my hands after all that, then I use LUSH - Lemony Flutter...omg that stuff is amazing! I have the tester size because I just wanted to try before I buy and damn im gonna buy that! 

Lastly, cream my hands and I'm all done! yay :)

I dont usually take hours because I really dont have the patience!
