Sally Hansen Sugar Coat Swatches - Royal Icing, Red Velvet and Treat-Heart!

Hey all,

Boyyyyy...it has been so long since I have blogged, painted my nails and even bought nails polish. It has been 2 months and a bit...I really suffered from loosing my so called "mojo"
I had exams which were pretty stressful, they literally took over my life. I lost interest in a lot of things, my love for nail polish and crochet had actually gone...I'm slowly getting back into the groove now since University is over for the summer (more like rainy weather) so im getting back to my hobbies :)

A few weeks ago I popped into Poundland to buy some much needed tissue and happened to walk past the cosmetics section and saw that they had some new Sally Hansen sugar coat polishes *gasp* they're so pretty and im so glad im not paying full price for them! Lol!

I picked up the three I saw and now I managed to swatch them and they're STUNNING! Shimmery and textured and just WOOOOOW :D The only annoying thing that goes with shimmer polish is that during removal you whole entire finger is gonna end up shimmery!

First up is Royal Icing

It's a light blue base filled with purple shimmery bits, it is a bit sheer. I have four coats on but there still is a visible nail line, drying time is fast and rock hard within 5 mins :)

Next up is Treat-Heart

A lovely baby pink base with shimmery darker pink bits. Again it is sheer so I have three coats on but I love how dainty it looks! Definitely an elegant polish and I would wear it to fancy events ;) haha

Lastly, my absolute favourite is Red Velvet. An absolutely lushhhhhh raspberry red, it contains light pink shimmers and is a one coater! I added two just because I feel better having two coats on :) haha
I could literally wear this polish all the damn time! It's bright, textured and just fantastic!

Now I am so glad I got my hands on these polishes as I really do love textured polish!

What do you ladies think? :)

Stay tuned, I have some nail art coming up with a crochet item!

Thanks for reading!

Bye for now!

Maybelline Color Show - In Your Flesh!

Hey all,

It has been a while since I posted, im just enjoying my life to the fullest. My blogging mojo has gone, I know this since im not getting excited over polish anymore...must just be stress and such stuff getting to me.

A couple weeks ago I bought a nude polish by Maybelline - In your flesh.

It's a very lovely colour, barely shows up on your nails and really matches my skin tone I think. The formula of the polish is great as I was able to get full coverage in two coats and it was really shiny and I had no need for topcoat. It also dried pretty fast which is always a plus!

Here are my swatches:

Overall, I am really impressed and I would definitely recommend this polish to any one that is looking for a nude :)

KBShimer - Radioactive!

Hey ladies,

I hope you've all had a good week, I am looking forward to the weekend and relaxing. Been a stressful week for me in all aspects! It's tough being a student...hard to stay sane lol

Bleh...I'm so sad that I don't enjoy blogging as often as I want to. I do my nails and have a tonne saved up to post but just don't have the motivation to do it.

On my little break right now (doing a long ass essay on Telomeres) I wanted to share with you my second indie polish ever! :) lol

It's KBShimmer - Radioactive, its a bright green that glows in the dark :) has a bunch of random glitters in it which I think are a night mare to fish out lol

Nonetheless, I liked it as it was an amazing present from someone close to me.

Here it is :)

I managed to get good coverage and I am pleased, I dont have a fancy shmancy camera to take a picture in the dark so if you're interested in the glow effect check out Chalkboard Nails swatch HERE

Thanks for reading ladies :)

Models Own - Velvet Goth Collection!

Hey all,

Almost Friday...WOOOOOO!!

I have good news, I finally invested in a good phone...okay my iPhone 4s wasn't that bad but damn...the Samsung Galaxy S4's camera is da bomb! lol :D

I knew I had to wait to get this phone to photograph the Models Own Velvet Goth Collection I got last week. They are a bunch of glitters, in a coloured base which dries a little matte. I didn't add any topcoat to my swatch because I don't mind the slight grittiness to it and I love matte!

OH! And I really love the fluffy texture on the bottle tops! :D reminds me of the fluff thingie powder for nails!

Here are my swatches :)

First up is Obsidian - It is a bunch of silver glitters suspended in a black jelly base, really super shiny and I love that the glitter is so dense in this polish and the rest of them! I have two coats on without top coat

Next is Valerian - A deep blue jelly with some silver, blue and fine black glitters in it. Easy coverage again in two coats without any topcoat!

Third up is Amethyst - An amazing purple jelly which I absolutely love! I can't get enough of how nice the glitter looks in the purple base! It contains purple and silver glitters in it :) no topcoat again!

Next is Sardonyx - Again, a major fan of this red jelly base! I would love just buy the jelly bases alone because they are so rich in colour! Contains fine black and red glitters! Two coats and no topcoat :)

Last but certainly not least, my absolute favourite of the collection Absinthe - A beautiful deep emerald green colour with fine green and silver glitter and large green hexes. This is just a WOW for me! I really really really love it! :D two coats and no topcoat :)

I do love this collection a lot, these are my first glitters within a coloured base and I am defo not disappointed!
What do you guys think!?

Don't forget I have a give away running :) check it out HERE

Thank you all for reading!

Seventeen - High Shine - Miami & Wave!

Hey all :)

Today I have a swatch of Seventeen High Shine nail polish. I've mainly seen this polish in Boots, I saw them the other week for £1 each in the reduction basket! Can't beat that! lol

I know that I vowed I wouldn't buy nail polish and I haven't, these ones my sister bought (THANK GOD!) and I decided to swatch them :)

Typically, blue and pink cremes are colours everyone has and I myself have them too...they've run out so im defo stealing these from my sister >:) hehe!

They are pretty shiny and I didn't need top coat at all, similar to the Barry M gelly's really :)

Here are the swatches:

First up is Miami, a lovely two coater (could defo get away with one!) very shiny and dries really fast :)

Next is a lovely blue called Wave, defo an accurate name! It's such a lovely opaque creme blue...two coater as well and really shiny!

I think that these polishes are really good for stamping and I will try them out in the future! :) They are very close to the Barry M Gelly collection and also worth the £1 :D ahah can't beat a good bargain!

Match Your Nails To Your Cocktail!

Hey all :)

Today I have a press sample* from Models Own!

Models own teamed up with Midori, which I believe is a melon flavored liqueur (I don't drink! lol). They created three wonderful limited edition polishes :D I absolutely love them!
The collection includes a duochrome, a sheer jelly and an amazing glitter...and you know best of all? All three are scented of melon which means I couldn't stop sniffing my nails!
To top it off, they are all green and I am obsessed with the colour green! all in all i'm a fan :D

First up I have Golden Green - A wonderful duochrome shimmery gren, the colours shift from a deep green to a gold and I can see hints of a dark purple in there! Trust me, I was at the bus stop just watching my nail's shift from the colours. Pretty impressed! Also, the picture was taken after a day. During the day, I had washed plenty of dishes and even had a shower, as you can see I had no tip wear and the melony smell was still there! This was two easy thick coats which dried pretty fast!

Next up is My Midori - A sheer jelly almost more like a acid neon green (haha!) I gotta say this polish is pretty sheer, I have about 5 coats on and you can still see my nail line! ( :O OH MY!) but don't run away yet, there is a good side, each layer dried very quickly. You can definitely build it up safely with out worrying it'll get ruined. I applied this in the evening and woke up in the morning with no bed sheet marks on my nails...that's a win people. Can obviously be layered over white if you wish to make it "pop" with out adding tonnes of layers!

Lastly, I have Dancing Queen - A glitter that not only smells yummy but has so many yummy glitters in it! From baby blue shards to green, blue, gold hexes which are small and big! Placement is needed with this glitter but thats just like most glitter toppers anyway. I didn't mind that about it. Although you may need a thick coat of top coat to smooth things out :) I have one coat over My Midori

All in all im pretty impressed, all three polishes smell lovely and the smell lasts longer than I had thought. The polishes dry quickly and the application is easy :)

This set is limited edition so hurry! The limited edition My Midori Models Own set will retail at £15 from www.modelsownit.com :)

Thank you for reading! Let me know what you think :D

Swatcher - O.P.I - Vampsterdam & Nail art!

Hey ladies,

What a lovely rainy sunday this is (sarcasm!) I've not been in the mood to study at all, which is terrible since I have an exam in less than 3 weeks! HELP?!?!

I was looking at my nail polish stash and I don't own more than 6 O.P.I polishes and one of them happens to be Vampsterdam, I haven't even used this polish once! OMG! So I decided to show you a swatch of it and some simple nail art on top :)

The colour is so lovely! It's like a purpley plum colour with a kind of silvery frosty colour running through it! The formula is good, two easy coats for full coverage and drying time is normal.

Here it is

I loved the colour so much that I did some cute little hearts on it using a small dotting tool and Barry M's - Caramel :)

The colours go so well together, right!? :D Love how it turned out! What do you ladies think?

Swatcher - Barry M Matte - Espresso and Caramel!

Hey ladies!

Almost Friday :D YAAAAAY!

As you all know Barry M released some new Matte polishes a few weeks ago and I decided to buy two of them. The two that really appealed to me were Caramel and Espresso....Espresso because I was in the Halloween mood and that was such a fitting colour! I used it in my Vampire Bites post (HERE). And then I have been looking for a perfect skin tone colour and when I saw Caramel I just knew I had to have it!!!!

I am EXTREMELY impressed by these Matte polishes! They are very Matte and very smooth and really great coverage as well as no chipping and fast drying times! Seriously perfect in my opinion :)

Here is a swatch of Espresso:

Just perfect!

Next up is Caramel:

REALLY matches my skin tone! My favorite!! :D

What do you ladies think? I really think they are worth the money :D

Swatcher - NYC Smokey Topcoat - Greenday!

Hello lovelies!

Whatcha all up to this Saturday?! I'm working on a new crochet project which I'm gonna keep a secret for now, when its done I'll do some nail art to match it! So keep your eyes peeled!

Today I have for you all a swatch of NYC Smokey Topcoat - Greenday. Firstly, I didn't even know this existed!! I went into superdrug to just have a look and just go "I wish I had money to spend on nail polish!" lol then I saw this beauty along with a gold topcoat on the shelf! I was like oh hell, I have to buy this! Picked it up and went to the till. I had no spare change, Nooooooo :( So I asked how many points I had on my Superdrug card and wow, I had enough!

(I'm not cheap, I spend about £150 a month on travel from my student loan which isn't enough to spend carelessly!)

My thoughts on this polish is that it is amazing, I knew it would be similar to the Smokey Muse I swatch a few months back HERE. It has amazing green hex glitters along with some duochrome little glitters which shine blue, green, gold and purple in the light from what I can see! They are all suspended in a black gelly :) My swatch is one thin coat and one thick coat which both dried averagely. This is definitely my favourite polish to date!

Here it is!

What do you guys think of this polish? :)

Swatcher - Revlon Scented - GrapeFruit Fizz!

Hey lovelies!

Thank bloody goodness grief it is FRIDAY! I am tired of travelling with the train, Flipping Metropolitan here in London keeps getting delayed or terminating earlier than I want it to! Can you believe I took 7....YES 7 trains on Tuesday due to flippin signal failures!

Phew! Now onto today's postie post :) I have for you another Revlon Scented polish and it is GrapeFruit Fizz, another extremely sheer polish that took about 4 layers and you can still see my nail line. I love the sparkle it but I am really not a fan of the smell! It smells like grapefruit but more like those cleaning products that have the scent of a flavor! I don't like it at all!

Here it is :)

Overall, I am not a fan of it...glad it was for £1 and not the original price lol since I would have defo regretted buying it!

What do you ladies think?
